A one-day hackathon empowering students and young innovators to reimagine sustainable supply chains and turn waste into value through circular economy solutions.
Description
The “Hacking the Supply Chain for Sustainable Products” hackathon, held on 19 February 2026 at Alexander College in Larnaca, brought together students and aspiring innovators for an intensive, hands-on innovation experience.
Organised by the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) in collaboration with Alexander College, designed and delivered by NEEMA LABS and SocialTech Lab, the hackathon focused on addressing challenges within sustainable supply chains through circular economy thinking.
Participants explored how waste materials can be transformed into valuable resources, working in teams to ideate and develop innovative product concepts. With guidance from mentors from Social Tech Lab and NEEMA LABS, participants were supported in applying circular design principles and sustainable product development approaches.
The programme created a dynamic environment for collaboration, experimentation, and problem-solving, culminating in final team pitches that showcased creative solutions with real-world potential. The best ideas were recognised with vouchers for Public stores, rewarding innovation and impact.
