4-month academy empowering women in Cyprus to turn ideas into sustainable businesses through skills, mentorship, and global networks
Description
The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Cyprus is part of a global U.S. Department of State initiative implemented in nearly 100 countries worldwide. In Cyprus, AWE supports aspiring and early-stage women entrepreneurs by equipping them with practical business skills, mentorship, and access to local and international networks.
Delivered by SocialTech Lab in 2023 and 2024 with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia and key private-sector partners, AWE Cyprus combines structured online learning with hands-on, in-person mentoring. Over four months, participants develop, validate, and refine their business ideas—moving from concept to MVP or scaling existing ventures—while becoming part of a powerful global alumni community.
Structure of the Programme

4-month entrepreneurship journey, guiding women from idea stage to MVP or business growth

Blended learning model, combining the DreamBuilder online platform with in-person facilitation

Core capacity-building workshops on strategic planning, marketing, financial management, pitching, and storytelling

Local and international mentorship, including support from U.S. Exchange Alumni and business leaders
